BABY GEAR:

New mamas are always asking me what they need to purchase to help prepare for their new bundle of love.  When I was getting things together for my registry I just happened to put this list together.  I have shared this list with lots of friends so I thought this would be a great place for mamas to access it or share with their friends.

Activity Toys: Baby Einstein Baby Neptune Ocean Adventure Gym

Baby First Aid Kit: The First Years American Red Cross First Aid Kit/Thermometer

Baby Car Mirror: Summer Infant

Baby Monitor: Summer Infant Day & Night Flat Screen Color Video Monitor with 7" LCD Screen. You can find these on Craig's List - that's where we got ours

Baby Seat: Bumbo Baby Sitter Seat w/tray

Bassinet Fisher-Price Newborn Rock 'n Play Sleeper: This is what all my girls slept long hours in the first few months of life - It's the best!

Bath Tub: Fisher Price has great options.

Black out curtains: Pottery Barn - they always have sales - another absolute MUST for the nursery.  Worth the money

Boppy Pillow: So great for breastfeeding and propping your baby up in.  Especially if you have twins and are trying to feed bottle both babies at once.

Bottle Drying Rack: Skip Hop, but any will do.

Bottles: Pura Kiki are stainless steel and you can find them on Amazon.  The nipples are fast flowing so I recommend purchasing nipples that are suitable for your babies age.  These bottles are compatible with Avent, Born Free and others.
*If you plan on breastfeeding and pumping you can use bottles that are compatible with your pump.  This will make life easier and help keep the bottle washing down.

Bouncy Chair: Any bouncy seat/swing will do.

Breast Cream: Earth Mama Natural Nipple Cream I used this stuff everyday with the pump.  I suggest putting it on before pumping to help with chaffing

Breast Friend Nursing Pillow: The double is essential for breast feeding twins.

Breast Milk Storage: Lansinoh Breast Milk Storage Bags are great for freezing - 50 Count

Breast Pump: Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breast pump - On-the-Go Tote is what I used.  Held up for all three kiddos. See if your insurance company will cover all or part of the cost.  You can always try to get a prescription from your doctor.

Hands Free Breast Pump Bra: This is a must!!  There are many different choices.  Look online

Car Seat (infant): Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30 Infant Car Seat - can buy at justkidsstore.com for cheap and is compatible compatible w/BOB car seat adapter

Car Seat (convertible): Britax car seats are the best you can buy.  We have the Marathon and now Acacia has moved into the Frontier.  They are safe, sturdy and cute.  We love ours!

Carrier: Ergobaby Galaxy Grey Carrier: loved having a carrier.  Anyone will do, just be sure it's ergonomic for the babies legs.  If you get this one be sure to register for the newborn insert.

Diaper bag: Petunia Pickle Bottom - expensive so any bag will do. Sign up on petunia pickle bottom  website to join there VIP club and you'll learn about discounts.

Diaper Rash Cream: Motherlove Herbal Comp Diaper Rash and Thrush

Diapers: Honest Company - I have had maybe 2 blow outs with these diapers between all three babies.  I love them and I love that you can have them shipped, with wipes, directly to your house each month.  You can learn more at honest.com  I use the Huggies brand nighttime diapers.


Fitted Crib Sheets: Organic Cotton at Pottery Barn Kids They have lots of cute organic bedding to chose from.  They are well made and the color doesn't fade.

Highchair: Space saver by Fisher Price - highly recommend or even a travel highchair will work and is cheaper.  I love not having a ton of highchairs around my house.

Hooded Bath towels/wash cloth: Aden+Anais Hooded Towel & Washcloth and Skip Hop.  Both are well made and large.

Nail Clipper: The First Years American Red Cross Deluxe Nail Clippers with Magnifier

Pacifiers: Wubbanub!! The very BEST pacifier ever!  Definitely purchase!  We didn't use any others.  You can get on Amazon for a good price.  These pacifiers have little stuffed animals on them so they stay put on your babies chest and don't easily get lost.  Highly recommend!

Shampoo/Body Wash: Avalon Organics for baby or Honest company - Love this stuff.

Stroller: Universal Baby Trend great for the infant car seat when you're running errands - Amazon

Stroller: BOB I LOVE this stroller!!  We got ours at the REI used gear sale for half price.  It was brand new.  We got our double BOB for the twins on Craig's List for half price too.  It was gently used, but in great shape.  In my opinion, this is the best out there.  Yes, it's a bit bulky but I love it for walks with the girls and "around town".

Swaddle: Summer Infant SwaddleMe Organic.  I highly recommend swaddling to help baby the first few months.  After they start busting out of the swaddle I recommend Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit .  This thing was awesome! The perfect sleep suit for the babies as they transitioned from being swaddled to a sleep sack.  Google it to learn more.

Swaddle Wraps (Muslin): -   aden + anais 4-PackThey have lots of cute designs to chose from.

Teething toys: Vulli Sophie the Giraffe Teether in Natural Rubber and anything Green Sprout.  They are all made of silicone instead of plastic.

White Noise Machine: THIS IS A MUST!  We bought the Marpac Dohm-DS Dual Speed Sound Conditioner on Amazon - worth every penny!! Definitely get one of these to help baby sleep and to drown out sounds in your house.
